As a global capital city, London invites you to explore and enjoy! 

As part of your Residential Option course we include two half-day cultural tours or activities per week plus an additional full day Saturday weekend trip for two week courses. Your teacher will be your personal guide helping to give you a truly authentic British cultural experience. Here are a sample of cultural activities included in your course.   

Southbank Royal Festival Hall and River Thames London tour

Guided tour of the famous London cultural arts quarter known as the Southbank along the River Thames with spectacular views of London. Tour around the arts centres including the Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre, British Film Institute, Hayward Gallery and Queen Elizabeth Purcell Hall followed by a walk to the London Eye set against the scenic back drop of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Richmond Park and Pembroke Lodge visits walking, deer spotting and taking tea

Walking in world famous Richmond Park. Enjoy deer spotting the herd of red and fallow deer which roam freely. Enjoy the sheer beauty of nature in all its forms from ancient trees to rare beetles, from the profusion of flowers and  shrubs to squirrels, a wide range of birds and other wildlife. Visit to Pembroke Lodge for tea with stunning views of Petersham and wonderful views everywhere! Cost: Free

 

 

 

 

 

Covent Garden, London sight- seeing trip

Visit to Covent Garden, home to the famous piazza with an eclectic mix of lively street performance arts, markets, shops, restaurants and wine bars. Visit famous English flagship teashop ‘Whittard of Chelsea’ with its delightful range of English teas. Walk around Neal’s Yard famous for its complimentary health remedies. Stroll down Trafalgar Square and the Strand where theatre land continues. Cost: Free

 

 

 

 

 

 

Richmond Town Centre and River Thames in Richmond waterfront trip

Sight-seeing trip of the Richmond area including the town centre with its extensive range of shops, bars and café’s followed by a walk along the River Thames waterfront with its picturesque views of boats, canoes and ancient trees set against the scenic backdrop of Richmond Bridge. Followed by a drink in the Shaftesbury pub. South Kensington London sight-seeing trip

A sight-seeing trip to a lovely and unique part of London. Walk around the area with its bars, café’s and museums. Visit the Victoria and Albert Museum, walk to the Royal Albert Hall and then to Kensington Palace Gardens. See other landmarks such as Imperial College London and the Natural History Museum. Learn about the history of ‘South Ken’ in recent times. Cost: Free
